When I use:
xdotool getmouselocation | sed -e 's/x://' -e 's/y://' -e 's/ screen:.*
$//'

I get lots of:

findclient: 18875681
then one
findclient: 18875679
then
1495 103

I found my version by doing the following:
xdotool --version
xdotool version 2.20110530.1

Any suggestions?

I think there's some debug output still enabled in xdotool, sorry about that. It's output to stderr so you can kill that output with:

xdotool getmouselocation 2> /dev/null | sed ...

I'll remove this output in the next version

I can't believe I forgot that. It has only been 2 years since I
retired.
