Keeping Mergfields where no adequat replacement is in context

Hey,

i'm looking for a way to keep certain mergefields after generation available in docx where no parameters were passed by context. My idea is to have an intermediate docx which i can finalize at some point.

I was searching code but could't find the actual mergefield/simpleField replacement.

I'm happy for any kind of help
