Hi guys,

Glad to see you are stretching support for AppEngine further :)

A question : using iText-gae that you are providing, we are still stuck with AGPL license for iText, no ?

thx

Koen

"The additional provision requires that the complete source code be made available to any network user of the AGPL-licensed work, typically a Web application."

Hi Koen,

I suppose you already tried our GAE specific demo here  :

Few months ago we had a disucssion with B Lowagie about the license issue. We decide to go back to iText 2.1.7 because we don't want AGPL.

iText-gae provided by itextpdf and iText 2.1.7 are not compatible at all (different packages). So we decide to "fork" the project in order to make It work properly on GAE.

This might be replaced one day by  : https://github.com/witwall/itext-gae.

So in short, we don't use AGPL iText version.

Best regards.

Pascal,

Super cool ! The answer I was hoping for  :-)

iText did not change a lot since 2.1.7, the biggest changes are the accelerated version numbers since Lowagie added AGPL !
Thx

I think in iText 2.1.7 packages used to start with com.lowagie whereas under iText 5+ packages starts with com.itextpdf.

As we don't want to adapt / redevelop we aim to use com.lowagie.* all the time.

Best Regards.
