GFS major update mid-january

I have detected that, at least in the Argentina area, the GFS update done in mid-january (reduced grid size plus others), had a negative effect on forecasts for this area of the world.

Temperatures and humidity values are the ones that suffer more (very big margin of error)

Anybody detected the same thing in other areas of the world ?

I never use the GFS. I use the NAM and the RAP. Maybe thats why I am not seeing some of the issues mentioned.
