misalignment in overlay

Not a big issue, just a tad annoying, but there is some misalignment in the
overlay -- at least where I am.

Phil, you're right. Looks like there's a 1km offset of the overlay for
Australia and northern Malaysia. Segments are run and then 'stitched'
together for map layers. The Australia region is off. Some other random
areas seem off as well, but this is often due to the 1km elevation
dataset which does not characterize the coastal regions that well. I'll
have a look at this again.
