Clean hard drive when xbox 360 do not start

Hi everyone !
My XBOX360 got the ring of death(3), and I know that some people buy
them even if they don't work.
But to be safe I want to wipe-out my info on the hardrive(intern) but
since I can't get it to start I don't know how.
Got any idea ? THANKS !
