viXen bug: Palette buttons not working

Dear Vixeners,

I want to inform you of a bug with viXen that occurred on September 1, 2025:
viXen was ignoring my clicks on the buttons of the widget palette.


Here's how it happened:
Starting my new project: F.o.x.R.A.D (FoxRAD offers xblite Rapid Application Development), I was designing from scratch its main window: a CRUD window for viXen projects.

I wanted to list a summary of my project list with a List View control, and I realized that clicking on the Palette to add a List View control was not working.

I had to find a fix as soon as possible as I can't live with a buggy viXen!

I fired an execution log (menu bar option: Options/Environment/Log Activity), and I soon discover the cause of the bug:
	The initialization of an in-memory array of the palette's control IDs had disappeared over the past 15 years of maintenance.

Five minutes later, the bug was fixed, and viXen was able to add my new List View control to my FoxRAD prototype.

An hour later, I uploaded a working version of viXen to Sourceforge:

Lessons learned:
1. Developers: Unless you actively use your production, you'll never cover and test all user stories.
2. Bugs not reported => tool not used; viXen will be 20 years old in 2026; Is it time for viXen to retire?

I use viXen for all my xblite projects, and viXen is quite sufficient for my own use. Should I remain the single happy user of viXen, or does viXen make happy a wider user base?

Dear viXen Users, could you please let me know if you care for a future for viXen?

I'd be interested to know: it will motivate me to start on working on a completely rewritten and improved version 2.00 of viXen.

Hi Guy

Not sure how many people would still be using vixen, but I sure still do. A new version would be great but I would also say that it depends on how many of us still use it. Its great for quick gui s with WinX especially, but I guess thats my preference when using vixen. Also great for importing my old vb6 guis. 

If you are going to create a new version, I suggest you do it for fun. (but keep me in mind cause I would love to test it too)
