I've just fired up Xig on a BBB after installing a couple of python modules and although it's running just it is spitting out a stream of the following exception:

cp4pc.edp - my device ID is: 00000000-00000000-D0FF50FF-FF5D1775
cp4pc.edp - my IP is 192.168.1.104
cp4pc.edp - tick Exception: cannot convert argument to integer
cp4pc.edp - Traceback (most recent call last):
File "./library/ext/cp4pc/rci/edp.py", line 334, in tick
    self.handle_msg(self.rxdata[4:self.msg_len + 4])
  File "./library/ext/cp4pc/rci/edp.py", line 434, in handle_msg
    payload += struct.pack("!BBBBB", IP_list[0], IP_list[1], IP_list[2], IP_list[3], 0x01)
error: cannot convert argument to integer

it takes about a minute or more to show the front page and the python process is jammed at %100 cpu.

Where do I start to sort this all out ??

Cheers,
Chris

Along this year, I have the goal to port the XIG for some modules like BeagleBone Black, Rasberry Pi, Edison...

When I have some free time I will check this issue.

Actually I just noticed that is running at 100% on the Mac too.

I'll try Debian(was Angstom)  on the BBB and see how that behaves...

I have the same problem on a Mac running Mavericks.  100% CPU and the same error loop.  XIG is completely non-functional for me.

Anyone else have this issue on 10.9?

Rob, apologies.  I have several Macs and am actually seeing the issue with XIG on 10.10.2 (Yosemite).  I am unable to try to replicate the issue on Mavericks at the moment.

Just launched XIG 1.5.1 on OSX 10.10.2 and it launches normally so we’ll need more information to reproduce the problem you’re seeing. Which radio are you using? And do you know which version of Python is running on your computer? My test was with Python 2.7.1 and an XBee-PRO ZigBee (S2B hardware).

Rob,

I am running Python 2.7.6 and have an XBee-PRO 802.15.4.  Xig loops with or without the XBee connected to the USB port.
