Hi guys,

have you ever tried to connect an arduino nano clone with xbee?

I can upload different sketchs to the arduino nano ch340g and they work perfectly.

my xbee wiring has leds to the indication, like power input, network join and message receive/transmit (rssi).

so I can see the xbee received the package but I cant capture the data using the api.

the function xbee.getResponse().isAvailable() always return false.

if I upload the same code to an arduino uno or arduino mega the code works fine.

have you ever had this kind of problem?

what is your solution for that?

best regards,

ARP

I don't have experience with ch340g nano but I've worked with the ftdi nano clones and Arduino Pros clones and never any issues (I did have issues with 3.3v clones but it was related to my logic shifters). I've read reports of issues with ch340g

Hi Andrew,

thanks for your reply.

I have tried with arduino and ftdi chipset but I had the same result.

What is your nano model?

Are you using api firmware in xbees?

What is the brand of your device?

is it Digi?

I ordered these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iduino-NANO-V3-0-ATmega328-Board-5V-16Mhz-FTDI-Chip-FT232RL-for-Arduino-/281041059063?hash=item416f5a3cf7:g:ExkAAOSwAL9Uk73f

Firmware version XB24-ZB_23A7 (router) or more generally 2*A7 http://ftp1.digi.com/support/firmware/93009373_G1.txt

BTW, the version of xbee-arduino I was using is at commit 5fccf2e73d1be1067308a0aae66011e008252855, simply because this work was before v6. Without looking, I think the git command is git checkout 5fccf2e73d1be1067308a0aae66011e008252855

Hi Andrew,

thanks a lot for your detailed reply.

at this time, I changed the nano for uno but in a few weeks I will come back to research this question.

Hi Alexandre,

I have the same problem as you, I can get things working no problem with a Mega as the Server( sending Xbee), and the Xbee+Nanos can recieve broadcast messages but I cannot use a Nano as the  sender.  The other Nanos never recieve..

I have used an Oscilloscope and the RX,TX pins seem to be sending correctly..  but nothing on is ever recieved by the other nanos..

Quick question : Do you use any SDA/SDL devices on the Nano, I used small OLEDs but I dont think that they are the problem.  I have also tried using the standard Serial ( TX,RX) pins and also the Software Serial library.

I can send Local AT Commands in API mode and I recieve the correct responses, so I know that local Serial comms are working/connected correctly.

Very frustrating..
