Issues with Drag and drop reordering

I configured my relationship for drag and drop reordering for parent child records (a gallery with it's pictures), and when I hover on a child row in the relations tab, I see the 4 arrowed cursor for the drag and drop, but it only let's me select the text of the record, even when clicking.  I tried disabling text select in css for the listing class, which didn't help.

When I go in the edit mode of the gallery, the transient widget allows me to reorder using the arrom up and down buttons on the right, which can be a tedious task when reordering a big batch of pictures, so I prefer to do it in the reltions tab.

Am I missing something here or does anyone know how to solve this?
