Cartopy plotting lines through land areas

Hi all:

          I am trying to do something very similar to the third plot at the link below and am getting the same error as in the plot.

http://xarray.pydata.org/en/stable/examples/multidimensional-coords.html

Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

Hi Sanjiv,

currently, the easiest is probably to downgrade matplotlib to version 3.2. Alternatively you can try to use the pyplot directly and pass one row and column of data less that there is in the coordinates. See also https://github.com/pydata/xarray/issues/4596 and the associated matplotlib and cartopy issues.
