Xar 1.5.2 has just been released and is available from the
project download page here:
http://code.google.com/p/xar/downloads/list

This release includes some build system changes to allow
static and dynamic libxar, use of finer grained makefile
variables to allow build systems to more easily control
where things are installed, 2 bug fixes from the rpm5
project, a bugfix for when xar is processing a malformed
table of contents, and a bug fix to configure to properly
setup acl support on OS X 10.5.
