what is xaos' limitation?

can anyone tell me why it becomes impossible to zoom after a certain point and everything goes "corrupt"? the processor isn't necessarily under load, the ram isn't full, so why is there such a limitation? also how hard do you think it could be to give the program multicore support or gpu support?
