auto randomizing the color through the script

I've been playing around with the Xaos and editing the actual rec
file. I was wonder something.

I see that you can change the color with example (palette 1 123456789
0 ).

I was wondering is there a easy way to randomly generate various
color patterns following a preset pattern like changing the fractal
color flow from a light green to dark green. or have only cycle
through shades of blues ect..

if just (palette int int int ) stepping by ones of what ever number I
can write a simple ruby script to write fractal code for me then just
paste it into the original rec file. )
