What steps will reproduce the problem?
./configure --with-png

What is the expected output?
png support

What do you see instead?
no png support

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
r525 (trunk); or also the release 3.5

Please provide any additional information below.
Provided proper support where no option uses png only if libpng is
available, --without-png or --with-png=no disables png support even if
available and --with-png or --with-png=yes will abort configure if libpng
is not available.
