Dear friend
What is the type of element which can model the effect of interface between two segments.
The major parameters in this element are the normal stiffness and shear stiffness.
I try gasket element but it doesn't include the shear stiffness.
Does Contact element apple to model it?
If yes please explain..............
Thanks

Sincerely

Yes the contact element are what you need.  For example, on side would be CONTA170 and it would pair with CONTA174.
Stiffness is set with FKN and FKT real constants.

Please put your affliation in your posts, such as Unviersity of such and such, or Company XYZ.

Thanks,

Rod

Yes, no problem.

There is a forum www.xansys.org with 3000 members... this one pretty
much has just me. I grabbed the google name so that it wasn't misused.
Although I can help you here, you might have better luck asking your
questino in the large forum xansys.org with the many members.

Either way is okay.

Rod
