Has everything become uncool to your teenager? Are you racking your brain to come up with the perfect party favor? Try a simple and inexpensive personalized picture frame for party favors. Teenagers enjoy hanging pictures in their lockers or their rooms. Design a personalized frame showcasing the guest's personality.
Decorate the frames. Write the guest's name down the side of the frame or along the bottom depending on the length of the name. Try writing it with a dry erase marker first if you are unsure if the name fits. Choose two or three items to add to the frame indicating a few interests of the party guest. Consider adding a few decorative items like squiggly lines, polka dots, jewels or shapes. This is your chance to be creative.
Design the frames. You may know some of the party guest's hobbies or what they enjoy doing in their spare time. Sit down with your teenager and go through the guest list. Ask for activities, sports, groups or anything the guest may enjoy. Create a list of generic guy and girl objects you can add. Consider outdoor activities, cars, sports teams and bands for guys. Think about flowers, shoes, accessories or fashion magazines for girls.
Take Polaroid pictures. Snap photos of guests at various times during the party. Place the pictures in the decorated photo frames before passing them out at the end of the party. Also, consider taking a group picture. Encourage guests to make silly faces or act silly during some of the photos.
Gather supplies. Determine how many frames you'll need to make and the size of each. Purchase acrylic paints, paint brushes, stencils, stickers, hot glue, jewels and gems. Think about sealing the painted portion of the frame with a clear acrylic paint.
Place the individual photo frames into decorative bags and tie them up with curly ribbon. Consider asking a friend or family member to help with this step during the party.
