Hi everybody,

Version 1.1.3 of xAct has been released. It is mainly another bugfix version, with some updates and additions in xTensor, xCoba, xPert, xTerior, TexAct, SymManipulator and SpinFrames.

Note the update of the documentation file xCobaDoc.nb, which now includes the CTensor framework (it used to be documented in a separate file xCobaDoc2.nb). It also has some further explanations on the notion of parallel derivatives.

As usual, if you find any problem with this new version (code, docs, webpages, or anything else), please let us know.

Cheers,
Jose.

Great Jose!
I just noticed it yesterday night and was going to download it.
I am testing it with the upcoming version of xPrint.

Hi,

Just ran a parallel evaluation based bimetric theory boilerplate in development, and the new version runs flawlessly!  The boilerplate is rather extensive at this point, running an active (first defined) and frozen metric on the master kernel, and a single subkernel with the order of metric definition reversed so that the active and frozen metric properties are reversed.  All tensors are defined on both kernels, but with their metric based symmetries given for the active metric of the kernel used, yielding easy "porting" of all expressions between kernels, and full symmetry dependent utilization of ToCanonical and Simplification for both metrics as active metrics (each in their respective kernel).  This routine "pushes the limit" of xAct parallel evaluation use, as well as dual metric use in the single manifold tangent space utilized in each kernel, requiring the "full spectrum" of xAct commands.  In no instance has a single error occurred.

Thanks again,
Bill
