Hi everyone,

I am new to using xAct. I used xCoba to calculate the ADM mass in 3+1 dimensions, but I am trying to figure out how to calculate it for d dimensions using xTensor. Do you know how I can do that?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Regards,

Leyla

Hi Leyla,

xTensor can handle abstract tensors with symbolic dimension d, but xCoba cannot work with symbolic dimension. DefBasis and DefChart need explicit lists of basis numbers and coordinates, and there is currently no support for symbolic specifications of those.

Once you have your code for dimension 3+1, perhaps it is not difficult to adapt it to other dimensions. Perhaps it is even possible to guess what the general formulas are in your case.

Cheers,
Jose.
