Good morning,

I have problems with installation.(I'm using in Windows)

First of all, I don't understand if It is necessary to do both  system-wide and single users installation .

Then, I don't find the WolframEngine folder to move the xAct.

Thank for your time

Hi!

It is not necessary to install it system-wide.
For the latest version of Mathematica you should put the xAct folder in
C:\Users\WhateverYourUserNameIs\AppData\Roaming\Wolfram\Applications
Observe however, that the AppData folder is hidden, so you have to type in the path or set the file browser to show hidden objects.

For slightly older versions it is Mathematica instead of Wolfram.
I think the reason is that the name of Mathematica has now formally changed from Wolfram Mathematica to Wolfram.

José: Can you update the installation instructions on xAct.es?

Regards
Thomas

Thank you so much for your mail e your time.

Now, it's work good.

I have only a problem with FullSimplification[][expr] function.
Wolfram tell me to install invar database, bur I have  installed "invar.History", "invar.m", "invar.nb" and "invar.Readme" (because of I use "xAct 1.2.zip"   for windows).

Thank you for your avaiability and your job.

Hi again,

The Invar package needs two files with the actual data about Riemann identities. Those files can be downloaded from this link:

This other file contains installation instructions, in particular about where to place those files:

Cheers,
Jose.
