Fired up my exxy the other day after sitting idle for 6months in the
garage (been rebuilding the master cylinders when I get the chance)

...only to find that a leak has sprung somewhere in the vacinity of
the water pump/ behind the belts spraying a fine mist of sooty black
watery stuff everywhere (doesnt seem to be oily). Has anyone
encountered this before and has an idea what it is? I havent had a
chance to have a proper look but im guessing its a call for attention
to the waterpump

...rather annoying distraction as I am a bit more interested in
pressing down the path of the V6 conversion now that I have got me a
low mileage motor/transaxle which needs extraction from its 155
carcass, and is next winters project. Incidentally if anyone has a
rusted out X19shell/ rear end in AKLD vacinity they want to dispose of
I would be interested in collecting from mid 2011 to use as a test bed
for the V6 conversion (dont want to carve up my good X19
unnecessarily).

Also for those interested I have found a good/cheap source of remote
brake hose for the remote reservoirs - its called "solvent" tubing
from para rubber and has a green stripe down the side. ive been
testing it with Dot4 for the last few months and it doesnt seem to
swell or sweat.

Apologies I havent had the time to do any more newsletters of late -
been busy doing the Masters study, which finishes mid next year and I
cant wait to have a life and get on with more important stuff like
dabbling under bonnets.

Finally - it looks like google is reducing the servicability of google
groups from Nov 1 so we wont be able to upload files or post(? -
unclear, from feb 2011), which means we may need to look for a new
forum space to keep the NZX19register going....any ideas here? what Im
trying to do is keep a forum going that is exclusive to NZ, so we have
a bit of a kiwi community...

Cheers & look forward to your replies!

Anthony
