Hi Patrick!

I've got this board to work here however before I can make a final fix
I need to know how generic the solution is at least for RS690 based boards.

I've attached a patch to
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14487
which should make things work on the Asus board and hopefully on other
RS690 based boards as well.
I'm still waiting for some RS690 users to report back to me.
Please note that this patch is for RS690 only for now - it will make
things not work on other boards.

Cheers,
Egbert.

I am using radeonHD driver with Asus P2-M2A690G Barebone to Sharp
LCDTV via HDMI. It is working fine with HDMI since radeonhd 1.1.0. The
last git version even gives me XAA acceleration.

BTW, I wonder how I can change the refresh rate on radeonhd, for I
prefer to 50Hz rather the the default 60Hz.

ah good that you help devs test.

The last git doesn't have this patch. so will have to be seperately tested.

Are they saying that RS690 can drive 2 digital outputs at the same time ?

JoJo,

Sorry, my board only has a Sub-D and a HDMI out, no DVI.

I'm using an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with the latest radeonHD git (commit
8432cb08) connected to a Sony XBR1 via the HDMI connector. The
display is found and properly identified:

(II) RADEONHD(0): Output DVI-D_1 connected
...
(II) RADEONHD(0): Output DVI-D_1 using monitor section SONY XBR1

(with the TDMS output associated as expected with DVI per Egbert's
patch)

but there's never even a flicker on the HDMI connected LCD. On a
reboot from power-down both the VGA and HDMI connected monitors show
activity ... and then the HDMI connection goes dead.

Hi Dave

apparantly HDMI only works, if connected & powered on from the boot.
doesn't work, if connected after system bootup. weird.

Hi -

Yes, sorry, I should have been more clear. I did have HDMI connected
and powered on from boot. And once the HDMI line goes dark, a
subsequent reset without power-off/power-on doesn't change things.
Also, I believe this recent bug report describes the situation I'm
seeing:

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14772

At least, I think it does. It's not clear from the bug report if
"flashes on and off" means that the DVI-D connected monitor flashes
*repeatedly* (which is not what I see), or if it means if flashes on
and then off - once (which *is* what I see).
