Hello,

The development the last couple of days has really been exciting. The
radeon driver now allows me to use xvideo on my Asus M2A-VM integrated
graphics (x1250, rs690-based). Unfortunately I have not been able to
get tv-out working yet.
Does anyone have it working, or should I just have a bit more patience? :-)

Hello.
+1 here.. This question is also very interesting for me.
Can anybody confirm, that TV-out is working with latest git radeon driver?
If so, please, let us see working xorg.conf file and give us some
hints howto to make it work.

Thanks!

Hello,

hoped too that it would possible. I tested it and have to say, yes and
no. The best way is to try it with xrandr. It was no problem to
connect to my TV, but I got only black and white. No way to get
colours! May be, because I have a PAL-TV. If you are owner of NTSC you
can give xrandr a try!

for people who dont't know how to handle with xrandr, here a litte
startup guide!
First of all we ask which connectors are available:

xrandr -q --verbose

Without svideo-cable connected to my tv I get:

My Tv isn't a ntsc. So I have to change this with:

Ok, let's switch to tv:

xrandr --output S-video --mode 640x600

VGA-Screen disappears and I get a b/w picture on my tv. But double
sized in the vertically. So I have only the top half of my screen.
Possible the reason is my 100Hz-TV and I could change this with
virtual size ore others options, but I don't want to see movies in
black and white! I'm giving up. In my opinion we have a stupid
situation. TV-OUT with the fglrx isn't a problem, but as we all know
looking video with the fglrx is "§u>>/(/..}%" ;-(."

Ok, back to my vga with:

xrandr --output vga-0 --mode 1280x1024

Conclusion: I searched hours over hours in google for a solution. It
seems so that nobody ever had success without the available patch from
gatos. Two years ago I tried the patch and had success with that
workaround. But I'm not willing to repeat this with this brand new
driver, if possible.

Dear developers, please, please work on the tv-out!!!

Got somebody colors with ntsc-tv's?

Dear Alois.
I'm also trying to use TVout on my ASUS M2A-VM HDMI, but currently I
got only black screen (not black screen of death :-)) )
I compiled mesa-drm from git, xrandr from git and radeon driver from git.
Do I need to load some special kernel modules? Could you post here the
output of lsmod and your xorg.conf?

BTW: I have NTSC TV , so I'll check the problem with colors.
Thanks!
