'Updater.exe' identified as potential malware by Microsoft Security Essentials wtih 1.6.0 version

Hi Bob,

It seems that updater.exe was identified as potential malware since last version 1.6.0.

Unfortunately, i tried to download XStreamloader and execute after excluding by precaution in Microsoft Security Essentials 'updater.exe' process and location folder for XStreamloader, but i'm not able to launch since. Anything happens.

Hi Cedric,

Thanks for reporting. Guess the case is that since Version 1.6.0, X-StreamLoader and Updater.exe was protected with ConfuserEx to prevent reverse engineering from source code.

I've found that thread about it https://github.com/yck1509/ConfuserEx/issues/290

So don't worry the files are virus free, but may it's required to make an exception rule in your Anti Virus software.

The protection was again removed now. The Virus detection rate from virustotal.com was frightening. That was not trustful.

I copied that new updater.exe into the folder and it's still recognized as a virus by Emsisoft Emergency Kit and others.

Please ignore that warning. Don't know why some Antivirus Software detect it as Malware.

But if you doesn't trust it, you can delete the Updater.exe if you want.

The program is only for downloading the actual GUI Release, after pressing Start Button.

So if you delete it, it was required to download Updates from X-Streamloader from website.

The source code from Updater.exe has become some changes.

So the signatures are clear now for 99% from the Antivir services, and should not furthermore make troubles with Protection Software.
