Job Description

 

As QE engineer you will be responsible for testing the latest VMware Enterprise class product ESX server with a customer point of view.

This would include testing the product with systems mindset & looking at developing new test cases based on customer usage patterns.

 

You would be a part of a global team and would be required to work with developers & QA counterparts across the continent to ensure a high quality product release. In addition, manage activities to meet delivery dates, and report accurate, complete status.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Execute and enhance the storage/VSATDS
• File bug reports & work with developers to help with bug analysis (if required)
• Participate in design of automation & code reviews
• Provide inputs & review the feature documentation before the release
• Provide regular status updates to the feature lead & track your own deliverables

 

Requirements

 

• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required (MS preferred)
• 3-8 years of overall working experience
• Should have storage knowledge – SAN and SCSI
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix
• Exposure to QA process & concepts
• Scripting experience in Perl/Shell will be an advantage
• Prior experience with VMWare products is a plus

Pavan (1 Position) Member of Technical Staff

 We are seeking a Member of technical staff (QE Engineer) with strong understanding of Unix/Linux or Windows operating systems internals, knowledge of Windows Kernel subsystems and automation scripting (E.g: Perl/Python/TCL/Expect/etc). If He/she is having the basic understanding on x-86, BIOS, PCI architecture & monitor is an added advantage. The engineer should be capable to work on Unix/Liunx and Windows platforms to test Vmware’s enterprise-class virtualization platforms.

 

Responsibilities:
• Create and update the test case scenarios.
• Able to automate the manual test cases.
• Analyze risks, create Test plans and Requirements-based test cases & test execution.
• Setup the test bed topologies and validate/verify the bugs.
• Troubleshoot the network & storage issues with operating systems and ability to troubleshoot the software/hardware issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to prioritize and handle the multiple outstanding skills based on the project needs.
• Creative ideas to break the product features and contribute to the product quality by creating/filing the product bugs with providing the sufficient diagnostics data needed by the development team to understand and fix the issue/bug.
Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required (MS preferred)
• 3+ years of experience and proficient in Unix/Linux OS & Windows internals with troubleshooting of the kernel subsystems like file management, process management, memory management & etc.
• Basic knowledge of Storage or Networking will be added advantage.
• Experience in Quality Engineering, writing test plans and test automation
• Good understanding of software engineering (SDLC) and QA (SQLC) process
• Ability to develop new functional and customer usage test cases from the product features

 

Desirable qualifications:
• Prior experience with VMware products
• Experience in OS internals, OS administration and management

The engineer in CPD group of VMware R&D is responsible for solving the complex customer issues and delivering the high quality VMware products to customers and partners. The engineers in current requirement group is responsible for testing the vSphere product of Networking components & , working on customer use cases in the area of networking for reproduction of complex use cases and also engineers collaborate with the Engineering to debug the issue. The current Job opening is looking for a candidate to work on Networking Testing of vSphere ESXi Product.

 

Responsibilities:
• QA’ing of vSphere ESXi product especially in the area of Networking and Networking interop solutions. Engineer will be creating the functional Tests based on fixes and identify technical risks for quality of products and execute tests for quality product delivery.
• Debugging the customer issues by participating in the Customer issue reproduction of issues in-house and participating in debugging along with Development organizations.
• Participating the in the designing & reviewing of Test plans etc.
• Automation of Test cases and to execute the Regression tests using the existing automation frameworks.
• Troubleshooting the customer issues and in-house Test-bed environmental issues.

 

Requirements:
Ø Minimum B.E Degree or equivalent.
Ø 4 – 6+ years of experience with significant depth of knowledge in Networking area (TCP/IP and/or other Networking related Protocols) by Testing/QA’ing.
Ø Knowledge of programing skills C or C++ or Java, scripting languages Perl/Python/Shell Scripting.
Ø Working Knowledge of UNIX/Linux Operating systems and general Operating System concepts.
Ø Hands on knowledge to use and write Automation scripts/frameworks for Unix/Linux based products. Knowledge of Java for automation is an added advantage.
Ø Having Networking certifications like CCNA etc. is an added advantage.
Ø Hands on experience or Knowledge in the area of Virtualization and general cloud concepts are an added advantage.
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ø Candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills.
