I haven't seen much in the way of show and tell here, so I thought I'd post my latest print.

This is Tulio Laanen's Marble Machine #3 (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1385312).

Mine is printed using Inland PLA; sliced with Simplify3D.  10% infill, 3 bottom layers, 3 perimeters, and 4 top layers.  I wanted to make sure there were no thin spots, like I had last time I printed it.

It came out pretty well, but I'm experiencing some z-wobble or ribbing.  I'm have a new coupler on order since I've stretched mine out during a couple recent repairs.  Still works fine though.

Anyone else have any recent prints they'd like to share?

Last print from my Lorei with PLA filament from RepRap. Settings: Layer Height: 0.1 | Shell thickness: 0.8 | Enable retraction | Bottom thickness: 0.8 | Fill density: 100% | Print speed: 60 | Printing temperature: 200 | Bed temperature: 60.
No treatment at all, just removed a thin support structure between the legs.

# Summary

3D printable model of Harley Quinn from Batman Arkham City.
Print with support settings activated.
Downscaling might destroy the layers, so be careful with that.

Hi all,

It is great to see that others are having as much fun with their XMachines as I have had. I took several spaceships from Thingiverse and used meshmixer to add them to a fence post cap that I made in Sketchup. The prints ranged from 19 to 34 hours. Hatchbox PLA | Layer Height 0.2 | Shell Thickness 0.8 | Infill 20% | Print Temp 200° | I do not have a heated bed | Bottom Thickness 1.2.

And... here is the time-lapse I put together just for fun.

Thanks again to everyone in the group for helping me get the Lorei working well.
Andrew

I have been working on this 17 piece Weapon from Overwatch. Man what a prop. I'll be assembling, patching, and painting it soon. https://www.myminifactory.com/object/ana-amari-s-rifle-24336

Kyle:

Looking good!

My daughter is into Cosplay and she would give a cyborg arm for that prop (main reason I'm trying to do 3D printing).

My kids wanted a birdhouse, so I'm making one. Bottom half is done (33 hour print). I'm making it in segments, since it'll be a pretty big house, and I don't use supports. I'm trying to make it easy for the printer to print, since I haven't tuned the printer yet. So far I've only printed the spool holder and the little boat, and have only made small tweaks. I'm happy with how it's come along so far, my girls will paint it in 10 minutes and forget about it, so I'm not worried about details.

Nice prints man.  Have you done anything to mod your printer?

Some decent prints I've been able to do (finally). My thumb for size reference.
Untouched:

Cleaned up:

The tail was printed separately. I was not able to print the pony as one piece.

Owl in .06mm resolution! I was really impressed by the quality at .06mm layers are almost undetectable.  Articulated snake .2mm, and finally a overhang test flipped upside-down to see the bottom surface finish. I was able to get a great quality overhang up to 20º (the top most overhang on the test part is 15º and thats the only one that drooped any).  All prints are with Maker Geeks Raptor PLA, good stuff.  It took a long time to finally get this printer to crank out good prints consistently, now to print some useful stuff!

BTW I've found the sheet metal frame is a good spot for sticky notes to keep track of midprint temp changes and stuff.

I added a bracket at the top of my lead screw. When I get the time I want to replace it with one that has a bearing in it.

I am using a fully stock Lorei except I did the tuxcat spring bed leveling mod.
I've done tall prints without any noticeable z-wobble so far. (both are around 11" tall)

Similar to Scott Roberts but mine is no where near stock and was a long road to the no z-wobble unfortunately.  It's hard to say what was the final nail in the coffin for the Z-wobble, like others, I tried a lot of different things but it's working great now and this printer gets bounced around in my car on a weekly basis from job sites to job sites and hotel to hotel.

Scott,

I am having bed leveling issues and curious about the tuxcat spring bed leveling mod.  Can you elaborate?

Thanks, Wade

That's awesome!  Do you still have the STL file by chance?  The link you used is no longer working.  Thanks!
