Going to revisit this now that I've had time to test out alot of what i've read and it's just not working for me sadly. Maybe I just don't know the best order of operations to set the printer up.

I am having a feeding problem where the PLA seems to just glop around the nozzle instead of printing straight out.; spaghettifies right out of the nozzle. I just bought SImplify3d in hopes that would have solved it, but same issues. I've scrubbed the outside of the nozzle and it seems to be feeding okay (steady flow), just not sure what the issue is causing it to stick to the outside of the nozzle.

When it does seem to flow out, it just doesn't seem to be close enough to the plate no matter what Z offset I use. I've set to defaults, 0, -1.8, -2.25 and all seem to have the same effect.

What I do is turn the machine on, set the "prepare Z Axis" to 0's.
I then lower the Z axis with a sheet of paper under it until it has some friction (was -1.7 last time I tried). I revert this value back to Zero.
I then set the Control - Z Axis offset to -1.7
I then go back into prepare and Preheat PLA (200 degrees extruder, 60 degrees plate)
I then Prepare Z axis to 30mm then once up to temp, I push through the PLA until it's not twisting around the nozzle.
I then print from SD Card.

The machine autolevels, but then while it's moving out I notice the PLA still seems to flow out of the nozzle.
After the autoleveling it seems to start to print, but the PLA that started coming out either interferes with the print, the nozzle isn't too close, or it's not sticking and just spaghettifies and I have to stop the print.

I am completely lost as to what is wrong and/or what I should try next.

Hey Dan,

It sounds to me like its not using your z offset settings.  I haven't used my printer for a long time, but I seem to remember that you have to save the setting after you adjust it.  I can look at my printer when I get home.

The nozzle should be close enough to the bed that if you put a piece of paper between the bed and the nozzle you can lightly feel the pressure when pulling on the paper.   The other thing you can try is to manually adjust the height of the magnetic probe to get the nozzle to the right distance.
