Several threads were frayed and it was evident that the hole would get bigger and probably others would develop as well. Since this sweater is a very loose weave, perhaps it is vulnerable to this, or perhaps this particular sweater was an exception. Since I couldn't be sure, I didn't reorder when I returned the sweater. Bottom line: It's a beautiful sweater but a risk. If you do decide to order, for me the xs was a good fit for a size 4, and probably the sweater will stretch since the weave is so loose.
