Alex Evenings Surplice Neckline Gown (Petite) I love this gown!! Being 5'3", it was so nice not to have to have it hemmed! The length is perfect and the dress fits beautifully. It is definitely true to size. I had thought the color would be more blue but actually it is purple. But that is okay. It is a beautiful gown and well worth the price. "I wanted a dress for son's November wedding that wasn't full of fancy beading but was still elegant, & one that hid my midsection! This dress is perfect. Neckline is a tad low, but a tailor can easily alter it a bit (or I might decide to be brave & leave it alone). Color is more of a purple-blue than "sapphire" as described, but that's fine. Only caveat is length of "petite size" dress: I'm 5'4" & I'll need to wear heels with it. A shorter person might need to have it hemmed."
