From what I have tested so far Zychlin line results are ahead 1 line, unfortunately.

Wyszogrod - there are many pages there where the layout has 2 columns instead of one. My code works fine with a 1 column layout, at this time. So here line result accuracy is worse, but still, better than nothing (will be a couple of lines behind or ahead).

Hi all,

I have been digitalizing and enabling online searches on a couple of yizkor books - as a side project (given I was fired at the end of July following a round of layoffs in my company)

Aside from the search capability being very rudimentary, the OCR text detection I am using from Google Cloud api is not always accurate, especially given the fact that Yizkor Books do not follow a fixed layout format (some present its contents in a regular 1 column page text, some in 2 column, etc)

Please let me know if you find this useful.

From my side, knowing it is far from perfect, it is way better than nothing. Allowed me to find references to my families in the books of the shtetls they lived - freeing me from the need to read it fully (not to mention that many genners do not read Hebrew).
