Cheyenne Audubon bluebird nest box monitoring training May 8
Volunteers are needed to help Cheyenne Audubon members monitor 16 bluebird nest boxes at the High Plains Arboretum. A 1.5-hour training session will be held May 8, 6 p.m., beginning at the Arboretum parking lot, 8301 Hildreth Road, visiting all the nest boxes.
Contact Kirk Miller, 307-630-3238, kamil...@gmail.com, if you plan to participate so that we can let you know if plans change. Kirk can also provide directions and more information.
Each survey takes about an hour and involves 1.5 miles of walking mostly on flat gravel roads and prairie grass and some unmown tall grass. Volunteers coordinate to complete the surveys weekly over the spring and summer. Surveys are usually completed in the morning on a day during the week or weeks a volunteer has signed up for.
