August 16, 7:00 a.m. – Free Field Trip: Snowy Range birding hike
Cheyenne Audubon members invite the public for a free birdwatching hike Aug. 16 to the Snowy Range. People of all birding skill levels are invited to see a variety of mountain birds such as white-crowned sparrow, fox sparrow and ruby-crowned kinglet.
Participants will leave the Lions Park parking lot between the Children’s Village at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and the picnic shelter at 7 a.m. and drive about 90 miles west to the Libby Lake picnic area. Carpooling may be available. If you need a ride or can offer a ride, please mention it when registering. Return to Cheyenne is expected before 5 p.m., though people with their own transportation may leave at any time.
Bring lunch or a snack, water and clothes for variable weather. Bring binoculars if available.

August 16, 9 a.m. – noon – Free: Cheyenne Habitat Hero garden tour
The Cheyenne Habitat Hero Committee invites the public to visit three Cheyenne Habitat Hero gardens that are bird and pollinator-friendly Saturday, Aug. 16, between 9 a.m. and noon. There is no entrance fee. Drop by any time while the gardens are open.
The garden locations are:
Earl DeGroot and Donna Griffith – 711 Vandehei Street
Eric Dalton – 909 Foyer Avenue
Bella Fuoco Wood-fired Pizza (not open for business until 5 p.m.) – 2115 Warren Avenue.
