This morning, we drove out Hat Six Road to see what we may find. The highlight was this family of Sandhill Cranes that were foraging in the grass near the road. Behind them is Wagner Reservoir - the first reservoir near Hat Six Road as you travel generally south. As you can see from the photos the colts are well on their way to growing up. We did hear and see Vesper Sparrows, Red-winged Blackbirds, Black-billed Magpies, Yellow Warbler, House Wren, Western Meadowlark, Lark Bunting, Cliff Swallow, American Coot, American Wigeon, Redhead Duck ,Mallard, and Canada Goose.
This is the first sighting (for us) of young cranes in Natrona Co. WY
