Wyobirders:

There was an adult Little Blue Heron at Alsop Lake near Laramie this morning! It seemed to favor the west end of the lake, where it was sometimes out of sight behind the bullrushes, but at one point flew along the south shore and was foraging out in the open, roughly across from the boat ramp and parking lot. There is a public easement up to 50' above the water line all the way around Alsop Lake, so one can walk around to get a better look at the west end of the lake if the heron is not visible from the parking lot.

Also of note was at least one Black Tern at Alsop Lake. And at Lori Lake, just to the east of Alsop Lake on the other side of Herrick Lane, there is a breeding colony of marsh birds visible in the rushes. I saw Forster's Terns, Eared and Pied-billed Grebes, and American Coots all on nests.

Full checklist, including photos of the heron, at https://ebird.org/checklist/S247373834.

Good birding,
