I am teaching a 90 minute online short course on 1 July 2025 on a topic that will help your colleagues understand what GIS is in a fun and interactive way. Join us or tell a friend, family member, or colleague!

Do maps still matter in our digital age? In this short course, we will explore the dynamic world of interactive, modern mapping, exploring mountains, population change, ecoregions, river systems, and other topics to understand a region of the world (Colorado, but with extensions to Wyoming of course!) and the wider world. We will discuss how these maps are created through Geotechnologies and how those technologies evolved from ancient Babylonian clay tablet maps to today’s maps on our phones and in our lives.
