Hello Colleagues,
We're just under two weeks away from the 2026 GISCO Mapping Contest deadline! What have you been working on lately? What topics have excited you recently? Do they have a geospatial component you can depict on a map or develop into an interactive experience? Consider asking your preferred AI model for suggestions if you're coming up short on ideas and don't want to miss this opportunity to showcase your technical skills. The source of your inspiration isn't a significant concern as long as your submission's content and presentation is original. We're offering $100 gift cards to winning cartographic works and interactive experience submissions in two sections (professional and student). Don't leave these prizes on the table! We're also looking for contest sponsors and additional judges if you're interested in other ways to participate. Please visit our webpage for more information, formatting guidelines, fine print, and an application for judging. Contest questions and sponsorship inquiries can be directed to contest@giscolorado.org. Winners will be announced at the Elevations Geospatial Summit co-hosted by WyGEO in Steamboat Springs, CO. Happy mapping to everyone - we can't wait to hear from you!
Best,
Jesse Clark, GISP
