Hi all,

I have just joined here.

Does anybody else have the experience that findU.com is regularly missing at least 1 out of 3 packets sent to its servers? I have recently switched to viewing my weather data on aprs.fi and finding the same problem. Apparently findU.com is on the critical path for getting data to CWOP. That's a problem since findU.com has been without support for more than 10 years and has frequent outages (no data recorded for several days). This is in addition to the missed packets which are happening 24/7.

I am registered as AB2TC-1 or AU822 and using a WiFiLogger addon to a Davis Vantage Vue weather station. Maybe there is something wrong with my Export data setup.

Hi Knut,

You should be able to check about missing packets from your CWOP station here,

Note the link at the bottom that shows your packets for the past 24 hours.

Hi Russ and all,

I follow that link which shows me the same data as what I see in the "Raw weather data" link on findU.com's main page. It confirms that data points, which are supposed to show every 5 minutes, are commonly missed, often 2 times in a row. What I am looking for is an explanation for and hopefully a fix for the anomaly. It is quite possible that the data export configuration in my WiFiLogger (addon to Davis Vantage Vue) device is not quite right, but I have no guidance yet as to what the problem might be. It would also be quite useful to know whether I am the only one to see this anomaly. If I am, then we know where to look.

The first thing to check is your logs to see if the trouble is with his networm transfer to CWOP is showing completed transfers or error notations.

Hi Don and all,

I am pretty sure that the failed upload transfers from me do not complete successfully. I could see this in the log when I was still uing the WeatherLlink app on my PC to do the upload. Now, using WiFiLogger, it apparently doesn't have a log file to look at. I can easily reconfigure here so I can check the logs. Dinner is on the table soon, so it will be a couple of hours before I can provide more info. But thanks a lot for the help from the group.

Hi all,

Sorry, the few hours morfed into a number of weeks. I have now collected enough evidence to conclude that the problem is local here. There seems to be a protocol problem in the communication between the Davis console and the add-on module WiFiLogger. So I consider this thread closed.
