Documentation issues

I have just raised Issue #1825 with regard to the lack of clarity around the different co-ordinate sytems that can arise when using FloatCanvas.

I would be happy to help to resolve the documentation issue.

I think there needs to be a Glossary that defines the different co-ordinate systems, and the method documentation should link to the glossary to ensure that the documentation is clear.
