.. ADDITIONAL SKYWARN NET CONTROL TRAINING CLASSES ANNOUNCED ..

The NWS Wakefield SKYWARN Amateur Radio Support Team will be holding
SKYWARN Net Control Operator (NCO) Training in an online, instructor-
lead "webinar" format at the following dates and times:

Saturday, April 5, 2014 - 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Friday, April 11, 2014 - 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Friday, April 25, 2014 - 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Sunday, April 20, 2014 - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

This training is available to the following audiences:

* NEW team members joining for the first time.
* Existing ACTIVE team members (identified by "ACT" in the Roster).
* Existing INACTIVE team members (identified by "INACT" in the Roster).
* Existing RESERVE team members (identified by "RES" in the Roster).

Due to the interactive nature of the training, classes are limited to
a maximum of four NEW, INACT, and RES participants. There is no limit
on the number of ACT team members who may participate.

.. PREREQUISITES ..

All participants must have completed at least Basic SKYWARN Spotter
training within the last three years, and are required to take either
Basic or Advanced training at least once every three years to maintain
active Spotter training status.

A Technician Class amateur radio license or higher is required.

Participants must read, understand, and agree to the SKYWARN Net Control
Operator Realistic Job Preview disclosure, and are required to
independently read and understand approximately 40 pages of printed
training material, available for download from the SKYWARN Training
Portal at http://training.wx4akq.org/.

.. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ..

To participate in this training, high-speed Internet access, a
computer running a recent version of Windows or Mac OS X, working
speakers, and a microphone are required. For full details and a system

.. REGISTRATION ..

Pre-registration for this class is REQUIRED.

Class registration deadline is 72 hours prior to the scheduled start
of the class. Classes may be cancelled for low registration counts,
and registration will close once the class is at capacity.

Existing ACTIVE team members wishing to participate should utilize
the online registration form up to the point at which registration
closes. ACTIVE team members may register after the online form is
closed by e-mailing Steve...@WX4AKQ.org.
