Please provide a method to disable the Smart Quotes and Smart Dashes
features currently available (and on by default) on OSX for text fields on
which they are not applicable (i.e. need to take literal input of dashes
and quotes, such as when entering shell arguments).

Comment:

It shouldn't be difficult to implement this, but we need to find a good
API for it and I'm not sure what exactly would it be. If anybody has any
ideas, please post to wx-dev.

Note: this is newly on by default on 10.9, previously Smart Quotes were
off by default and didn't affect wx apps. We'll probably hear more about
this (I already did: https://www.poedit.net/trac/ticket/562).
