Shadowblitz16 created an issue (wxWidgets/wxWidgets#25957)

Description

From what I can tell is that you guys have alot of functionality that is not consistent across platforms like auimanager, and mdi.

Also you guys have platforms that are not, or partially supported but are actually native like qt/gtk, winui, and older versions of win32.

My suggestion would be at some next major release, remove functionality that is not consistent across platforms, and to agree on a small set of common controls and functionality that can be easily implemented for more backends.

For example multiple document interface is a windows only thing, and can be removed and reimplimented on top wxwidgets with basic controls.

Auimanager can also be reimplimented as such.

The idea is to get a consistent working api across platforms so when people do write things like this they work.

This is something libui seems to be doing.

By minimizing your scope you can reduce your work and make a more stable library.

Sorry, this is not reallly an actionable issue, so I don't think it makes sense to keep it open. If you want to open an issue, you need to be more precise than

From what I can tell is that you guys have alot of functionality that is not consistent across platforms like auimanager, and mdi.

i.e. explain what exactly is inconsistent. If you'd like to discuss the evolution of the library, you need to post to wx-dev mailing list.
