Plans for 3.4.0

Hello,

Now that 3.3.3 is done (thanks again to everybody!), I think we should
start thinking about releasing 3.4.0 in some not so distant future. We do
need at least one more release before it, but hopefully not more than a
single one. So the schedule would be something like 3.3.4 in the autumn
(October?) and then 3.4.0 in December or maybe January 2027.

As for the things I'd like to see in it, here is an incomplete list:

This is not very ambitious, but it would already be nice to do all this.
And if more can be done, all the better.

the previous discussion
