I retested this with the current MSW build. A temporary RichTextCtrlTestCase probe created a single 65,536-character wxRichTextCtrl plain-text run, rendered the buffer into a wxMemoryDC, and verified that non-background pixels were painted.
The focused run passed with test_gui.exe RichTextCtrlTestCase -c LongPlainTextRendering on Windows 11. I don't see a remaining reproducible failure in the current tree, so this appears to have already been fixed.
