wx-3.2 Ubuntu ...Sigh (Issue #23231)

Hello, I have successfully built wxWidgets-3. on CentOS and RHEL 7, 8 and 9 yet for Ubuntu 22.04 as denoted below, either I am doing something wrong, the vanilla Ubuntu system is toasted charcoal, or the m4 autogen script is overly unbaked. I don't really know where to publish or share this information, yet it should be removed, please let me know or remove it yourself.

First of all, untarring the tarball in /usr/include is not the recommended way to build wx. In fact, that could likely cause problems. Untar it somewhere else (e.g., your home directory, a temp directory, etc.) but not in a system path.
Second, you don't need to run autogen.sh (and autoupdate). The standard:
./configure
make
make install
should work just fine, assuming you have the appropriate dependencies installed.

./configure && make && make install is a native response most times and ./autogen.sh rarely.

As root, I go to
There is no reason to build wxWidgets as root, not on Ubuntu nor any other platform. Doing unnecessary things as root is dangerous and sometimes causes trouble, like in this case.
