GTK 4 is not at all supported yet. There was a recent discussion about it
here but, in short, there is a lot of work to do and I have no idea when
and how will this happen.

We should make it more clear that this is not expected to work currently,
I guess...

Yes, configure should not accept --with-gtk=4 then.

Well, this is still useful for testing by those brave enough to try
working on it...
