wxUiEditor Beta 2 has been released. Highlights from this release are:

  • Support for wxWidgets 3.1.6 wxBitmapBundle including SVG images
  • Numerous improvements and additions to the UI
  • Dozens of additional properties for more control of wxWidgets classes
  • wxCrafter projects can now be imported

wxUiEditor is an app that creates and maintains wxWidgets UI and generates the C++ code to implement your design. It has a Mockup panel so that you can preview what your UI will look like before you compile it, and Code generation windows so that you can preview what the generated code will be.

In addition to creating a project from scratch, wxUiEditor can import existing projects from wxCrafter, wxFormBuilder, wxGlade, wxSmith and XRC. In most cases, the UI will look the same, though the generated code will typically be different.

wxUiEditor can also import dialogs from Windows Resource files, converting the controls into a wxWidgets equivalent and placing them in a variety of sizers. In this case, the UI will usually look different -- while the algorithms try to figure out what your intent for the dialog was, you will usually need to make adjustments after the conversion.

wxUiEditor is an Open Source project, and is available at https://github.com/KeyWorksRW/wxUiEditor . For beta 1 and beta 2, only a Windows setup file is available -- a Unix version is planned for the release version.
