Winter Solstice upcoming

Some of you may have distilled a rule of thumb from these last few equinox and solstice gatherings:

We gather at 7 pm at the Pauling House on the nearest Friday before or on the astronomical event itself.  

Going by that logic: Dec 19 will be our next Wanderers gathering, the Friday before Dec 21, the actual solstice per various authoritative sources.

I'd say: pencil that in but we still need to pay practical attention to on-the-ground features, and I may be unaware of some critical details.  

Like hey, I'm not always first in line when it comes to knowing what's what if you get my meaning.

So file this under predictions, as likely by Kirby's reckoning (peer reviewed with a few others).
