A reminder on June 3 that we've planned our Summer Solstice gathering for Friday June 20.
We always do our Solstice and Equinox shindigs on a Friday.
Feel free to invite guests.
We don't have any organized RSVP system, so it's conceivable we'd overflow the cozy venue. I note we did have about an equal number of people and chairs last time, with Susan preferring to stand anyway (me too). Just a few more and we'd be out on the porch and in the food room and maybe not all around the same table. Just in case, you could bring a folding chair if you have one in the car if you drive one and maybe not need it at all.
I've invited a couple guests, one of whom lives in faraway Roseburg, then I found it Greyhound has cut bus service to that place (last time I met him, he'd come by bus -- not a driver). There's no Amtrak there either. I must say, this whole Cascadia region is really the hinterlands when it comes to having its public transportation act together. If you're a tourist, you'd better be ready to rent a car and hire a driver if you aren't used to our side of the road.
Oh, and if push comes to shove, I live nearby and have a living room and backyard that have both served as overflow or annex spaces in the past. If we turned up as a group of 40 people (0.005% chance) then small groups could break off and wander around the neighborhood, check out our many tourist attractions (Gold Door, Bagdad... the new food truck pod just up the street...). Admire the C6XTY pyramid
in front of my place, invented by Wanderer Sam Lanahan, now a full time farmer growing wildflowers near Springfield.
