Memorial for Jon Bunce, Saturday, April 25 1 PM

Many of you will have had a relationship with Jon Bunce. 

I got to meet him (and a lot of you) through Don Wardwell. Two old friends. They'd perform duets at our Wanderers gatherings. Jon was a musician.

Jon was a cultural hub in the Portland scene and in the west coast music scene more generally, in ways I know a lot less about than some others reading this. 

Over a span of several years, I'd get to join him at his place on SE Harold and engage in intelligent discussion, sometimes during super bowls or other TV shows. I'd help him with computer issues sometimes, being a geek. He'd educate me on many topics.

Vs-a-vs Wanderers, Jon was in charge of coffee, it purchase and preparation, along with management of our coffee fund. The joke was this was our only official position, what made us a group. Not that you're forced to drink coffee, but we had it available (I'm a coffee fiend myself).
