I figure I oughta be public with this new podcast as I’m telling the world about Wanderers in some segments. Plus I’m being interviewed by a Wanderer: Ryan in Roseberg.

It’s a free ranging conversation, largely autobiographical, and comes from a YouTube on Ryan’s channel. I figured even just the audio track would make for a good podcast.

Also (bonus feature):  while I’m at it, since we had some naturally occurring conversation about Coxeter and coordinate systems (I wasn’t necessarily the instigator), I sense there’d be some interest around by Synergetics for Seniors, made the day after our summer gathering.

Typo in previous post: Roseburg (not Roseberg) — I keep doing that. At least I’ve learned when to say Equinox (vs Solstice).

The next Equinox Gathering will be on a Friday again, before the actual astronomical event, on September 18.

I was glad to see some discussion of STEM topics as we have a history of being a discussion,  beyond a mere announcements listserv. However we’ve also lost the listserv overboard a couple times when the underlying infrastructure (e.g. Yahoo!) decided to exit the listserv business. That puts a damper on wanting to put eggs in any basket (i.e. when the basket keeps breaking).

I’m very yakative (talkative), some might say yakotic, on other listservs, where I’m on about not only STEM topics but PATH topics as well. Huh?

In my little language it goes like this:

STEM = Science Technology Engineering Mathematics
PATH = Philosophy Anthropology Theater History

A lotta folks add an A to STEM to make it STEAM, saying “A is for Art”. That makes it all sound more thermodynamic.

I play a similar game but by making my A=Anthropology (Anthro > Art i.e. it includes it) I get the same A in both STEAM and PATH, so then I can criss-cross them, like in Scrabble [tm].

Finally, I have another fun acronym, BASKET, which is really obscure in 2026, plus the K comes and goes (partly out of false modesty, and besides it means Koski more than Kirby).

I have a whole Google slide deck on BASKET (or BEAST as the case may be). These are names of little slivers of volume (tetrahedral), like pottery “shards”, with which to assemble (or at least measure the volumes of — we phi-scale em) various “urns” (polyhedrons) i.e. urn-like shapes (concentric-symmetric). Think Etruscans (they were into urns too). Think Russian Dolls. Max esoteric.

Anyway, I go into all that unpacking to better explain this slide from my Synergetics for Seniors deck, the kind of content I’d present to Wanderers were we to do meetups online or in person.

As it is, I’ve shared a link to a YouTube presentation of a first draft of the deck in my previous post.
